Yay for Long Weekends!

As I sit here at my computer, with my aching feet and my stiff hips, I'm satisfied. We had our adult Valentines /Singles Awareness Day dinner and "Olympics" at church today. I think it was fun, and several people commented that they enjoyed themselves--and that's the goal. It's a bit funny, because we practically had to chase people out of building! =D Actually, that was the youth who had staffed the nursery. It was nice that they got to play, too, since they had volunteered to watch the little kids.

For our four "events" we had two video game categories (Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero III), a mind puzzle (four pieces only but a hard one), and Fear Factor. I think that TV show is gross, so we had Baby Food Fear Factor. As a kindness we got a fruit, so it wasn't a horrible experience for those eating it. It was funny though. One team's member conveniently didn't come for this event and one team member got a proxy to do his for him. But they were all good sports, and it was fun to watch what a great job they did. I had brought my camera to get pictures, and I got quite a few, but my 2 gig memory card I use to store other things sometimes, and I hadn't taken those off, so I ran out of memory. Total bummer that I didn't get any pics of the fear factor category.

Here's a picture of our newlyweds, who came to the party:

Poor Ed wasn't feeling well at all, so he helped me haul stuff over to the church, picked up a few things for me from the store, and then went home to bed. His left shin has been having some swelling problems, but it's been getting worse lately. The doctor gave him a water pill, but that didn't really help much and made Ed feel ill. The leg has continued to get worse, so Ed went back to the doctor, who sent him for an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. No blood clot was found. But yesterday, when Ed removed his socks that whole shin area that's swollen looked like it had been bleeding under the skin. Today it looked like there had been no new bleeding and the old blood was starting to be absorbed, but that's scary. What's going on with his leg that it would bleed like that?

On a happier note--some friends of ours (Jill and Larry Danley) are going to be sealed tomorrow in the Salt Lake Temple. I think it's wonderful! She waited a long time for him, and I'm so happy for her (them, really).
